Interactive Brokers Expands at The Durst Organization's 1133 Avenue of the Americas, Growing to Nearly 23,000 SF

New York, NY (April 10, 2024) – The Durst Organization today announced that Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: IBKR), an automated global electronic broker, is growing its office to 22,916 square feet at 1133 Avenue of the Americas.

Interactive Brokers is taking new space encompassing a portion of the 36th floor at 1133, where the company has previously leased 16,940 square feet. Their new space increases their footprint by 5,976 square feet for a term of seven years.

“As long-term owners, we are proud when tenants in our buildings choose to stay and grow with us, as Interactive Brokers is doing after moving into 1133 Avenue of the Americas nearly three years ago. Sixth Avenue has long been a global business hub. We are seeing a variety of new tenants, including tech companies, coming to the Avenue for access to public transit, high-quality office spaces, and proximity to Bryant Park,” said Jody Durst, President of The Durst Organization.

“With clients in over 200 countries and territories, Interactive Brokers is a global broker with offices worldwide, and we are pleased to expand our footprint in New York,” said Pam Berry, Head of Global Real Estate at Interactive Brokers. “New York City is recognized as a major financial center for global companies, and 1133 Avenue of the Americas is a distinguished building with sustainable features that sets the standard for modern design and creates a welcoming atmosphere for our employees.”

Interactive Brokers operates as a broker/dealer in more than 150 markets worldwide. The company provides direct-access trade execution and clearing services to sophisticated investors, active traders, and institutions.

With a limestone façade and sleek modernist lines, 1133 Avenue of the Americas is a distinctive presence overlooking Bryant Park. Durst invested $40 million in capital improvements for the addition of a soaring travertine lobby accented by a striking LED sculpture by Leo Villareal, destination dispatch elevator controls, new elevator cab interiors, and a newly landscaped outdoor plaza. Other property features include 5,000 square feet of green roofs and exclusive landscaped terraces. 1133 is certified LEED Gold. The 1.1 million-square-foot Class A tower is 45 stories tall, located on Avenue of the Americas between West 43rd and 44th Streets in the heart of Midtown.

The Durst Organization was represented in house by Tom Bow, Rocco Romeo, and Nora Caliban. Tim Dempsey, Roger Griswold, and Chris Hogan of CBRE represented Interactive Brokers.
