New York, NY (July 23, 2025) -- The Durst Organization today announced that international law firm Steptoe LLP has signed a lease for 57,988 square feet across three full floors (43-45) at 1133 Avenue of the Americas.
“1133 Avenue of the Americas has attracted a variety of tenants, from law and finance to sports and tech. Companies recognize the value of locating in a Class A building seconds away from Bryant Park. We look forward to welcoming Steptoe to 1133 Avenue of the Americas,” said Jody Durst, President of The Durst Organization.
According to Steptoe’s New York office managing partner, Michelle Levin: “We are in growth mode in New York and have been looking to expand our footprint to match our expanded capabilities. Over the past few years, we’ve recruited dozens of partners and counsel, with a strong emphasis on regulatory and enforcement experience in the financial industry, including banking, capital markets, blockchain and digital assets, derivatives and fintech, alongside other growth areas including international trade, business and human rights, national security, and commercial litigation. Our expanded team includes former senior-level SEC, DOJ and CFTC officials, federal and state prosecutors, and in-house counsel. At the same time, we have also successfully brought into Steptoe several lawyers that have expanded our capabilities in intellectual property, tax, bankruptcy, and insurance litigation.
She continues: “We like the Bryant Park neighborhood in Midtown. It positions us right in the center of the city and is the ideal location as we grow our presence. 1133 Avenue of the Americas has the space, resources, and facilities that we and any world-class law firm would need to operate in the heart of the world’s financial capital.”
1133 Avenue of the Americas is a 1.1 million-square-foot, 45-story Class A tower located on Avenue of the Americas between West 43rd and 44th Streets in the heart of Midtown. The building features a soaring travertine lobby accented by a striking LED sculpture by Leo Villareal, destination dispatch elevator controls, modern elevator cab interiors, and a landscaped outdoor plaza. Recently, in partnership with Skyline Robotics and Palladium Window Solutions, 1133 Avenue of the Americas became the only skyscraper in the world utilizing a robotic window cleaning system. Other property features include 5,000 square feet of green roofs and exclusive landscaped terraces. 1133 is certified as LEED Gold under LEED v4 Existing Buildings: Operations + Maintenance.
